Everything You Need, You Got It

Theme of the Week: Everything We Need for a Godly Life

Bible Verse: His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 2 Peter 1:3

I’m a forgetful person. I leave stuff by the front door all the time.

I often forget the very things I need to make something happen.
Going on a trip? You need a passport.
Going to jump out of a plane? You need a parachute.
Going to sell your car? You need proof of ownership.

Attempting to fix something in my home I inevitably make several trips to the local building supplies store because I am constantly bumping up against a situation where I need something I don’t have.

Do you have everything you need?

2 Peter 1:3 says that we have everything we need.

What do we need? That’s what we are going to be talking about this week.

Too many times we have tried to live the Christian life on our own. We have great needs that we can’t fill, yet we keep on going as if we can. Consequently, we find ourselves discouraged, beat up, and unsuccessful.

We don’t have to do it alone. Because of what He did for us on the cross, Christ has made it possible that we can live for God with great success.

As we look at those provisions this week, let’s determine even now to lean into them and embrace all that Jesus has for us.
