Theme of the Week: Why Did God Create Me?
Bible Verse: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10.
Scripture Reading: Romans 8:18-39
The Common English Bible translates today’s Bible Verse as: “We are God’s accomplishment, created in Christ Jesus to do good things. God planned for these good things to be the way that we live our lives.” (emphasis added)
As you start this day, you may or may not realize that it will bring great opportunities for you to walk in your purpose. What a day brings is often closely related to who you are.
How come? Simply because you are God’s accomplishment, and he’s not shaping you in a bubble. This means that you can count on him to continuously work out a plan that will have you step into what he has prepared for you to do and become. It also means that you are part of something bigger than yourself. Yes, God’s work in your life happens in and all around you!
Sometimes you may feel overwhelmed by everything that’s going on at home, at your job, in your head, in your heart. That’s because you are a work in progress, and the process might be demanding at times and even hurt a little… or a lot.
Some of the things you’re going through were ordained by God; some were caused by mistakes on your part. Either way, hang in there because your Maker is not done with you. And if you’re sighing after tomorrow, know that good things are not just coming, they’re already here, and they’re part of what makes up your life. Better yet, they’re part of what God makes of your life.
Whether you consider this day to be a good one or not, be encouraged by the fact that whatever God does, it promises to be good, and that is true for you too.
