When Beneil Dariush came to America, most of his family became lawyers, doctors, accountants and entrepreneurs. He was supposed to be an accountant himself, but for some reason, his first love was fighting. And he’s good at it.
Beneil turned an extremely successful Jiu-Jitsu career into a spot in the UFC, where he went from newcomer to one of the top-ranked fighters in his weight class. All along he could see God guiding him and opening doors so he could pursue this dream.
Unfortunately, the glory didn’t go to God, it went to Beneil and to fighting. Fighting was his life and nothing else mattered. Beneil had to learn the hard way that trusting in his own strength, and idolizing fighting isn’t the way to live. Yet going through the hard times helped him accept God’s perfect plan, and shaped him into who he is today – “more of a servant than a savage.”
